Lynham appointed Chair of Repatriation Medical Authority

The Hon Matt Keogh MP
Minister for Veterans' Affairs
Minister for Defence Personnel

Professor Anthony Lynham AO has been appointed as Chair of the Repatriation Medical Authority (RMA).

The RMA is an independent statutory body responsible for determining how disease, injury and other conditions relate to military service, using the most up-to-date medical and scientific evidence.

As Chair, Professor Lynham will head the RMA’s panel of eminent medical and scientific experts, reflecting his leadership experience and extensive medical expertise.

A leading maxillofacial surgeon, Dr Lynham has also made a strong contribution in both medical research and in public office, including as a former Queensland Government Minister.

He is also a former Australian Defence Force (ADF) member, bringing to the role a personal understanding of the challenges our veteran community face.

I am confident Professor Lynham will be a very capable Chair, helping ensure veterans and families of veterans receive the sound medical care they need.

I thank the outgoing RMA Chair Professor Terence Campbell AM for his contribution.

Professor Campbell has acted with professionalism and informed advice over the past 5 years and I wish him well in his future endeavours.
