Last week to nominate for inaugural awards

Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Dan Tehan said businesses had just one week left to enter the Prime Minister’s Veterans’ Employment Awards and showcase their leadership in the field.

Nominations for the inaugural Prime Minister’s Veterans’ Employment Awards are open to all Australian businesses that are employing former Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel or their partners.

Entries close at midnight on 22 December. For more information about the Awards, or to enter, visit: www.veteransemployment.gov.au/awards

Mr Tehan said the awards would showcase the Australian businesses that were being successful because they had hired veterans and were using their skills.

Mr Tehan said the awards would also honour veterans who were making significant contributions in the workplace.

“With only a week to go before entries close for the Prime Minister’s Veterans’ Employment Awards, I am encouraging all Australian businesses to get their nominations in,” Mr Tehan said.

“Whether you’re a small businesses with a handful of employees or an ASX-100 Blue Chip company — if you’re employing a veteran then be proud and nominate.

“We want to celebrate the contributions veterans are making after they leave the ADF and highlight how businesses of all sizes are being successful through hiring veterans.

“The winners will be announced in March 2018 at a gala ceremony.”
