VETERAN PENSION RATE RISE ON 20 SEPTEMBER

The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Senator the Hon. Michael Ronaldson announced new pension and income support payment rates for some 290,000 veterans, their partners, war widows and widowers across Australia would apply from tomorrow, 20 September.

The first full pension payments at the new rates will be on 17 October 2013.

The table below highlights the key changes to fortnightly rates.

1 – These are the maximum rates of payment and include any clean energy supplement payable.

Pensions are indexed twice a year in March and September taking account of changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the Pensioner and Beneficiary Living Cost Index (PBLCI) and Male Total Average Weekly Earnings (MTAWE).
