The 2010-11 Budget provides $246.4 million for new initiatives in the Veterans’ Affairs Portfolio, including acting on further recommendations of the Clarke Review and providing better access to health care and compensation for F-111 workers.

An election for the House of Representatives was held on 21 August 2010. The caretaker period will continue until the result of the election is clear.
During the caretaker period, any new material, including transcripts, issued by the Minister for Veterans' Affairs will not be available on this site. They will be available from the Minister's personal website, which is not maintained or funded by the Commonwealth of Australia.
The Hon Alan Griffin MP was appointed as the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs in December 2007 and Minister for Defence Personnel in April 2010.
As Minister, he oversees income support, compensation, care and commemoration programs for more than 400,000 veterans and their widows, widowers and dependants.
